Week 11 Part A: Using Twitter, LinkedIn or Social Influencers

There are many different social media platforms nowadays that can help your business grow and succeed. Each platform comes with different benefits, whether it be Twitter, LinkedIn, or Social Influencers you will find that social media can make or break your business. It is important to find the platform that is most beneficial for you and your business. Not all social media platforms work for every business and that is okay.

When it comes to Twitter, I have only ever used it for personal use. I have had my Twitter account since 2013, so about 8 years now. It never crossed my mind how much of an impact Twitter could make for a business. After further research, I learned that by tweeting consistently about relevant topics, you can really get to know your customers and create a stronger relationship with them. Twitter is a great way to get tips, ideas, and information from your customers easily. It can give your customers a platform to voice concerns or appreciation and can ultimately offer your business some inspiration. It is also a great way to learn about what your competitors are doing and network with other professionals in your field.

As for LinkedIn, I have an account, but I don’t use it as much as I should. I created a LinkedIn account when I was transitioning out of the Marine Corps in 2019. I know the basics of LinkedIn but after doing some research, I learned LinkedIn opens the doors for networking and a flood of potential clients. LinkedIn is a great place to showcase your business products & services and gain trust amongst customers/prospects.  One feature that helps is the “Recommendations” feature. The most important benefit of LinkedIn is the fact that it is populated almost entirely by forward-thinking professionals such as yourself who are also looking for ways to grow their businesses.

Social Influencers are what I have the least experience with out of the platforms. I have never engaged or worked with social media influencers. After researching social influencers, I learned the following, if you partner with influential bloggers for features and reviews of your products or services, it will help you build high-quality links to drive traffic and improve your search engine ranking. It’s important to work with influencers who are both relevant to your niche and will appreciate your products. Finally, micro-influencers can also educate your target audience about a cause you support. This helps establish meaningful relationships with potential customers, which is crucial for success, regardless of your business size.

In conclusion, I learned that social media provides many benefits when it comes to running a successful business. Whether you are learning what your competitors are doing, showcasing your products, or creating a name for yourself, social media will aid in the growth of your business. I think the most beneficial platform for my business would be LinkedIn. Through LinkedIn, I will be able to connect with local craft beer lovers and help find professional employees who are looking to join the team.

  1. Indeed the idea is to generate traffic. I saw a youtube video about how people where crowding up to buy limited edition Adidas "bad bunny" shoes. The only 200 pairs this poor country got where at the store however they had to tell the crowd (of more than 500) that the only people that would get the shoe were those who where able to secure their spot with an app. That it was pointless to be waiting outside the store worker told them. This crowd is what you call "Hype beast". However a hype beast is also a person that buys the initial limited products then resell them for 1000% profit. That's how you get Nike's to be worth 20-30 grand.

  2. With all these social media platforms, I wonder when we'll have time to actually live our life? Work all day and post all night. I read somewhere that to get established on Twitter you need to post 50 times per day. I get overwhelmed just thinking about it!

Perhaps you can become a micro-influencer of micro-brews? I rather like the idea of getting paid to visit craft breweries.

  3. Hello Anthony! I am currently marketing myself as social media micro influencer for korean style and kpop:) I loved the article that encourages businesses big and small to work with influencers. Also, it is true that each social media platform offers different benefits for a brand. Sometimes I find it tough to figure out which I should use first!
